Our Story

The My Cabinet Factory (MCF) story has humble beginnings but strong roots. We have been a family-owned and operated business for almost 30 years. Our current owner Jonathan White is a third-generation cabinetmaker who grew up being taught the importance of family, integrity, and hard work. Those values are ingrained into everything we do at MCF.

Like you, MCF puts family first. We recruit and train our employees with great care. We pride ourselves on our connection with our clients and how that translates into effective and enjoyable communication and collaboration. Whether it’s a small mudroom project, a kitchen update, or a full-scale new construction project, we treat each customer – and each project – with the utmost care and attention.

True craftsmanship is also alive and well here. One of the reasons people come back to us time and time again, and refer their friends, is because of our exceptional level of craftsmanship. We know the traditional crafts of woodworking, which can be hard to find these days. We can build something to fit every room in your home, designing each piece to fit your lifestyle and design aesthetic. Even after all these years, we find it thrilling to see a customer standing in a redesigned room that was once just an idea.

From our first days as a small business to our company today, our values and focus have remained constant - quality materials, meticulous attention to detail, and service that feels like family.

We are YOUR cabinet factory! We can’t wait to hear from you soon and start dreaming about your next project.

Our history

  • During the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, Greg White (Jonathan’s father) and his father Charlie White (Jonathan’s grandfather) owned Penny Pinchers Building Materials in Cartersville, Georgia. Penny Pinchers was a building material retail store, specializing in all sorts of products for the home, purchased at a bargain and sold at a bargain. From an early age, Jonathan spent summers alongside his father and grandfather as he began to learn the business.

  • In the early 1990’s, the decision was made to sell the business (Penny Pinchers). Prior to the sale, Greg began to design and build all-wood, unfinished kitchen and bath cabinets in the back of the store and displayed them on the showroom floor as a test market. The cabinets sold extremely well, and thus Economy Cabinets was born.

  • In 1994, Greg White, his 70 year-old, long-time employer Houston Brown, and a table saw moved next door into a 400 square foot space, which was rented from the eventual buyer of Penny Pinchers Building Material. We began building a single line of unfinished cabinets and selling them to retail customers and eventually to dealers.

  • In 1996, we leased our second building just up the road, which was a 800-1,000 square foot space, and we began to add additional workers to help with the growing business.

  • In 2000, the company moved to our third location, a 4,300 square foot building on Old Mill Road in Cartersville. Jonathan joined the business full time, after graduating from UGA in 2001.

  • In 2004, we moved to our fourth facility. It was a 15,000 square foot building leased in White, Georgia, behind Trim Depot on US 411. Due to customer demand and an impetus supplied by Jonathan, we began pre-finishing and installing custom cabinets directly to homeowners. This was a pivotal moment in our company’s story. Our first Atlanta clients were “friends of friends”, and we have grown year after year, building upon relationships. Our ever-expanding dealer network with our unfinished cabinets also continued to flourish.

  • From 2008 to today, we now own a 30,000 square foot building and showroom in White, Georgia. Our unfinished cabinets business grew to 5 lines of cabinets and 4 species of wood. We renamed the company to be My Cabinet Factory (MCF), knowing the meaning behind it was always client-focused and meant YOUR Cabinet Factory. MCF began also working with wholesalers in Smyrna and Alpharetta, which was another big growing moment for us. Happily, we still work with those same wholesale companies today.
